I got his crap over a dozen times, to virtually every *@*.il address I
own.

If you're sure your address was harvested off the IGLU archives (e.g., you
used a special address just for IGLU), then maybe the email addresses in the
archives should be hidden. We had a long discussion about this once, and
nothing came of it, so maybe we shouldn't start it again...
What we can do about this other then hiding our email addresses (which I
don't want to do - I've been using my current address for about 10 years,
and I have no plans on changing it or hiding it!)? Well, first you can filter
your spam (again, a discussion we had once - I still didn't write the article
I wanted to write about it). All his emails were put in my "spam" folder
because they contained the following To: line
To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Which is not my address, nor is it any mailing list I subscribe to.
Later I also blacklisted 206.105.105.35, the address of his computer (I
gave up on Paul Vixie's RBL (www.mail-abuse.org/rbl) so I keep my own, timely,
blacklist of repeated spam sources).
And complaining to the spammer's ISPs sometimes does good. I LARTed (anti-
spam-speak for complained to) SprintLink (his Internet provider, giving service
to his IP address block), namesecure.com (the registrar of his domain name -
they're not really to blame, but what the heck), and telcom.net (they serve
his DNS). Trying now, I couldn't connect to www.israelcalling.org, so maybe
my complaints worked and sprintlink shut them down :)
