As per your recommendation, I did this
my data fram is called p
Impacted_system, Application_Caused_Incident Count
HR                       Web                                      10
Web                     PPM                                      20
PeopleSoft             Financials                             30
etc
 
I did this:
 
 g <- graph.data.frame(p)
plot.igraph(g), I get graph with edges having numbers. I relly like to see 
the text like HR, Web etc. any ideas?
