Hi Gabor Csardi, I tried the install.packages() command directly in R as well. Both as normal user and as root. But it gives me the same error. Also downloading the 6.6 source and then compiling ends with the same error. Any idea how I can check if the compiler versions are different? I installed R on Ubuntu using the apt-get package manager.
