Hi,

Type "import cairo" at your Python prompt. If it doesn't work, it means that 
Cairo was not installed properly (and this is what causes igraph to print 
"plotting not available"). It might be the case that you have multiple Python 
installations on your machine (e.g., the system Python and another one from 
Homebrew), and igraph was installed for one of them and Cairo for the other one.
