Regards Pallav Education background: IITs or top REC with degree in Computer Science. Professional background: 1-2 years work experience in hard Linux technologies such as Linux kernel modification, software that work with PC connected hardware. The requirement for work experience is exempted for a hard core Linux enthusiast with clear passion and extensive knowledge of the open source technologies evident with contribution to open source projects. Position: Software Architect (Full Time) / Linux Consultant (Part Time) Skills: Programming languages C, C++, Perl, Python, Assembly language. Knowledge: Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, ethernet, Linux. Soft skills: Demonstrated perseverance in solving hard problems. ability to work intellectually challenging hard problems for long hours, creativity to apply principals of computer science in real world problems, self-starter with NO need for management. Ambition to earn the right to quickly grow in technical roles to executive rank in a fast growing company. Ask these questions to yourself to see if you fit in the culture of the company: 1) Are you willing to spend very long hours for next 16-20 months in return for the excitement and growth potential of a startup? 2) Do you end up configuring your own Linux distro for your laptop? Do you tinker with config files on your Linux laptop to improve the laptop performance? 3) Do you have extensive knowledge of Linux distros and their pro/cons? 4) Do you find the thought of working for a large company moving up the coporate ladder for next 10 years reprehensible? 5) Are you excited about the potential of telephony as a vehicle to reach 300 million indian customers? Immediate work: 1) Refine and expand a distributed system to support upto a million customers: Auditing the current system to make sure that architecture makes sense, add additional features on the system and proactively find all future potential problems in being able to support a million customers 2) Work with the founders in the development of the rest of the 4 products in the pipeline using the existing platform - develop the architecture and think through all the potential problems in the large scale deployment Emoluments: Negotiable, will be same or better than your current salary.
