Instead of disabling what you see on the console, you should be more worried about fixing the hardware problem of overheating (before you burn something). Sometimes these kind of things do happen because the hardware is not well supported. For example, frequency scaling on my old laptop wasn't supported till the time mandrake 9.2 (the corresponding kernel) came out (Oct 2003) (mandrake's were my favorite back then). That means that due to heating, my laptop would reboot every few (<10) minutes!
