There are no Ubuntu repos on 10.10.4.1 Even the CSE Repository is only for Ubuntu hardy 8.40 So you can't use local repos for 8.10 to my knowledge. In general its recommended to keep only one repository. Disable the others by suitable setting in GUI or editing the /etc/apt/sources.list file.
