These days Im installing Ubuntu 9.04 on a lot of comps. But the problem is my broadband connection charges is proportional to the amount of MB I download. Thus I have to download the same program again and again from the internet for each installation. For example, VideoLAN offers no .deb package for Debian/ Ubuntu on its website which I can download once and install on different computers. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-ubuntu.html
I like synaptic package manger in Ubuntu and the concept of packages in Linux. But its very difficult to find the installation file which it downloads from the internet which it uses subsequently to configure the given program. Is there any way to locate the installation file (eg .deb file) through synaptic package manger so that I dont have to download the same file again and again.
