Dear GLUGers, CONGRATULATIONS! GNU/LINUX USER GROUP - MEERUT is ONE YEAR old today! We started with a zeal to care and share the spirit of software freedom and achieved several milestones:- 1. We are the first GLUG of UP. 2. We changed the UP State Technical University Syllabus of B.Tech. (CS) and B.Tech.(IT) Final Year labs to 100% FOSS! We thank UPTU Board of Studies and IIT Kanpur for relying on us! 3. We have more than 30% of GLUGers as WOMEN! This is one of the highest participation of WOMEN in Indian GLUGs/LUGs! Thanks to all our women GLUGers! 4. FOSSTIVAL became the signature national event of GLUG Meerut. It follows 'Hackers for Hackers' and has been applauded in its very first version. Thanks to SoundSource, CDAC NOIDA and IITD-LUG! With such enthusiatic support, we are eager to bring FOSSTIVAL 2010 in January! 5. FOSSifying IIMT Radio 90.4 FM with blessings from Richard Stallman. 6. Nice associations with NRCFOSS, CDAC NOIDA, IITD-LUG and the newly formed FOSSCOMM pave the way for nicer endeavors of GLUGers! We thank all the FOSSouls who share the FOSSFIRE with us! We have a long way to go and lot more to achieve in FOSSpectrum! We are gearing up for FOSS in schools, BOSS and FOSSTIVAL 2010.
