First of all thanks for the replies to the previous thread ("Can't use
synaptic or apt-get behind proxy...".) It is working now.The new problem: I own dell studio 1555 that has a 256 MB ati radeon hd 4570 graphics card. How can I get it's drivers for ubuntu? I tried System>administration> hardware drivers. but they could not be activated, the download process dod not start, and ave an error window that had nothing in it. So I tried the forums, they gave a link, to the web-page where I could find the drivers, but again, they were 92 MB in size, so my proxy can't handle it. Are they available on the internal repository? How can I access them? And just for my knowledge, how often are the internal repositories updated?
