Please dont do this-- posting messages/invitations like this-- even to people you dont know personally-- is bad netiquette- and in bad taste. I am posting this to-list rather than unicast-- because I feel this needs to be pointed out. Would you post a random SMS or email to the head of your institution ? Assuming you had the email IDs of your professors, Would you post random email messages to them ? Or would you observe some decorum-- and try to be worthy of his/their respect ? Please be more mature-- and when you post messages exercise discretion-- that proves you to be worthy of the respect of other-- possibly older and more senior professionals who may be a part of your peer group in a community/group like this LUG. The reason I spoke up-- picked up a argument even with Shakthi on the list-- was because of a matter of principle-- that nobody has a right to talk-down-- or randomly reprimand anyone-- no matter how junior. Because at the time I felt that you were being picked upon. However, if you act in a immature or irresponsible way-- you are attracting all the random scoldings and abuses people may choose to heap upon you. I hope you can take this in a constructive way.
