First:
Actually a friend of mine has XP professional installed on his computer n
wanna install ubuntu with it on some other drive
but when  ubuntu cd is put  during boot tym..... and it boots using ubuntu
CD a DOS type terminal of ubuntu is opened with admin as root:
ad...@...   :
somethiing like this was in prompt. Plz help how to move ahead with the
installation n provide necessary commands if necessary.
Note:with same CD on another computer normal graphics installation
interface comes so if possible metion the reason for this terminal interface
in this case


Second
if ubuntu is being installed along with windows on C drive with 256Mb RAM,
and in total 3 drives C,D,E manual partiion is being selected (Ubuntu to be
installed on D sizing 29 gbs) is it sufficient to have:

1) 512 mbs as SWAP logical
2) rest of free space as mout point '/' Logical

kindly clear the point as it shows some error.
