hey, *iǘe*  the similar problem,
 i tried many otherś layout including usa too.
I am using ubuntu studio  karmic release.
i am having the same problem since i installed ubuntu in the separate
partition apart from window.

what i need to do to get it correct.?
problem here is, i need to press shift +corresponding key twice to get it
printed and the character i get is not what it is supposed to prin´t :

for quotation mark : *´*
double quoation mark : *¨*
negation : *~*

I am getting errors while compiling c program ...sysntax error.

this whole para is typed with that keyboard layout , you can see, which
character *itś* typing

i have bold those letters
