Replacing TC: This is same as replacing habit of DOS/xp with GNUNIX.

The biggest issue for a newbie is that the laptop vendor gives him a
bundle of packages which is already ages old, teachers have grown up
with that so they cant help us fight TC in labs.

Under the pressure of semester system, a 'chalta hai' approach has
been adopted by the entire system.

My kind request is - please take the most popular and easiest IDE
which helps do C,CPP,JAVA,PYTHON ..TCL/TK.. and which does not scare
newbies. Kindly dont confuse them by taking so many names.

If majority vote is for Eclipse, lets choose it as our flagship
commander to replace TC so that newbies dont get confused - 'emacs vs
vi' wars are already enough to complicate the situation.

Do the eclipse guys have some 1800 type toll free number so that
confusions may be solved live. Active support is the biggest
bottleneck with FOSS and we need to take care of it.If my net
connection does not work, I must not feel left out. 1800 type toll
free number can help me in that situation.

Sometimes we all behave like Rocket Singh of all FOSS applications and
that bounces back with apprehensions on the faces of audience.

I even suggest this to be told to newbies - "FOSS is not good just
because non-FOSS is bad.Its the natural way of creating and sharing
knowledge and non-FOSS counters the very cause of knowledge"
