Narendra, I've had the opposite on my Dell Vostro 1500 with Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, as opposed to Windows XP! (with Tata Photon+). If resolving names is a problem, Major Ankush Kohli (who is also on this list) suggests the use of the following nameservers
(/etc/resolv.con on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala):
nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4
nameserver 208.67.222.222
nameserver 208.67.220.220
nameserver 202.54.15.30
nameserver 202.54.29.5
