Well nautilus can never compete terminal
I use terminal for 90% of my work beacause of it's insane power
GUI is pretty much limited to it's design, but there is no limit on
terminal.

By the way following are the tasks for which I use terminal, may be
you could incorporate them in Nautilus

- Automating tasks in crontab
-Shell scripts, most of them are related to networking
-Every day tasks like managing files, disks etc.
