Slightly Off Topic, I think, IIT Delhi has good number of Prof and Student
who work on Codec and format like MPEG, MP4 etc.
It will be a good idea for student to work on latest technology like HTML5
ogv OR webm video codec and enrich these project. Even after passing out
from IITDelhi, I was unable to understand one simple thing
-- "What is the benefits to work on technologies like MP4 etc which
are basically Locked/Closed. Even If you do a great research and make a
patent, that patent will never give any benefit to student/IITDelhi."
I think, Open Source Club at IITD can play a good role in introducing
new open technologies to students"
