Try this script http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/scanModem.gz

Run: gunzip scanModem.gz, chmod +x scanModem, sudo ./scanModem.
It will create a subdirectory called Modem and generate some files
into it. Read them to get the clue. Post back here if you don't
understand the stuff.
