If you run chkdsk in windows on your windows partition, then you
should be able to non-destructively resize the windows partition
during Linux installation. Presently, the Linux setup identifies the
partition as un-cleanly unmonted and hence refuses to resize it
(because of potential loss of data?). Google for how to run chkdsk in
windows XP or 7.
