I couldn't try SchoolOS but I think
SchoolOS == official Ubuntu Linux distribution - mono based application -
some more default application + some extra application that dont comes with
official Ubuntu + new theme and wallpapper

so you can see at core level SchoolOS is actually a Ubutnu Linux
distribution. so that will use Ubuntu's reporitory. so SchoolOS can get
security updtes from official Ubuntu repository. so there wont be any update
issue.
