I think with Windows 7 this issue of extended partitions shown as one chunk
is coming, might be Microsoft's another BAD  trick.... I too had this
problem, when installing Kubuntu on a friend's laptop which had Windows 7
and Kubuntu installer was showing extended partitions as a single chunk!
(Although I was installing Kubuntu with Windows7 i.e. Dual Boot not Kubuntu
inside Windows)
