Thats exactly the point I want to say.. Even If Linux try to play
the splitted  files, These files are basically corrupt files. these Ok for
splitting and joining them.
lxsplit is a file splitter and not video file spliter.

try using oggtools and other ogg entry in synaptic which help you to split
and join videos.
