A friend bought a new laptop (Compaq CQ40 series) with Windows 7 pre-installed we used Disk Management utility of windows to create freespace and it shows it there but when we started installing CentOS/Ubuntu/Fedora they all see it as a single chunk i.e. his D , E + Unallocated space are shown as /dev/sda3 now due to this we can't use it for installation and after that have tried GParted but that too shows them as single chunk.
After this we installed Ubuntu inside Windows but that too failed with error, so now the situation is that we cannot install anything on his laptop What might be the the issue?? the disk management utility of Windows 7 doesn't show primary extended or other stuff rather it only says Dynamic for these partitions, please help!! -- Parin Sharma http://twitter.com/FOSSmaniac Please avoid sending me Word or PowerPoint attachments.
