In Mailing list, User ask for two things 1) Exact purpose 2) How to do something Generally person ask for 'how to do something' on basic of their prior google search and their LIMITED knowledge. knowing the 'Exact purpose' give us better things to answer. Ex - you somebody ask for resizing XYZ format with XYZ tools at some stage. 'how to something' but he may be doing for some foolish purpose which can be done in some commands. > On Wed, Oct 6, 2010 at 2:32 PM, Narendra Sisodiya < > [email protected]> wrote: > >> >> >> On Wed, Oct 6, 2010 at 2:29 PM, Prashant Mathur < >> [email protected]> wrote: >> >>> i want name of those sites which are online encyclopedias like >>> wikipedia..ok !! now as in wikipedia any one can edit any content of it n >>> save changes ; so are there any where only a registered membrr can login n >>> make changes n not anyone can else ! >>> >> >> >> >>> >>> On Wed, Oct 6, 2010 at 2:27 PM, Narendra Sisodiya < >>> [email protected]> wrote: >>> >>>> >>>> >>>> On Wed, Oct 6, 2010 at 2:19 PM, Prashant Mathur < >>>> [email protected]> wrote: >>>> >>>>> hey guys does anyone has any idea about any such site which is related >>>>> to WIKIPEDIA ...means any such online encyclopedia ..n that too with more >>>>> privacy features like in WIKIPEDIA anyone can edit any thing !! If you want online service then you can use Google's Official Service - Knol. http://knol.google.com/k And FSF - *Nupedia* * * * * Both project were not having feature like 'anybody can edit'. They were needing authorisation. Out of Nupedia , Knol and Wikipedia, wikipedia won the because it was allowing user to edit without login. Do let us know if you want more.
