Dear all,
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 and firefox 3.6.3
In my hostel room I access Internet via LAN cable. and we have to access
internet via proxy server. so first we have to login to proxy server via
browser than we can access external sites.
since last few days firefox is taking around 30 second to open proxy login
page or any local site. otherwise that proxy login page or any local site
takes almost 0 time to open. but after opening of proxy login page or any
local site everything works fine. I also have wifi router to access hostel
room connection, with router there is no such problem.

so the problem is that first site is taking too long when I use LAN cable,
but firefox works normally when I use router. what can be the problem with
LAN cable? other people are also facing the same problem on Ubuntu in my
hostel. but they dont have any problem with window.
