yup .. good idea .. it can be implemented on everything ranging from certificates to driving lisences and ration cards to voter IDs
Imagine voting for your constituency while you are somewhere else ... presently records are scattered in every department and we know about the pathetic condition in which they are maintained .. you ask for something to be retrieved and it takes months of hunting to find something ( manually) I had an idea of central information repository. What UIDAI is doing is just limited to identification. I had read the documentation of UIDAI and it says that it will only be authenticating a person by means of fingerprint or iris scan or something and give boolean response .. i.e yes or no.
