We selected Facebook for its mass reach, the wiki page or any other
alternate means of registration will only create confusion. There might be
few FOSSers who are not Facebook users, they can simply drop in at the event
and can send an email on the mailing lists (or contact the organiser, if
they didnt get the information on a mailing list) about their participation.
Even a tweet works.

Thank you for taking the initiative of creating the wiki page. Please do
mention on it that the organisers dont refer to it for handling user
registrations, so while listing themselves on the page might be a good idea,
it will be prudent to register on the facebook event or contact the
organiser or gate crash unannounced.
