Hi everyone: I have tried to run Cygwin X server on Windows 7. There seem to be quite a few problems on this. But I have no way out. It's my office system :( I need it for emacs/cscope sessions - working on the dreaded noteapd++/VS is tiresome, even with the keyboard configured to emacs keybindings. And no, I don't like eclipse/codeblocks etc etc.
I am trying out the solutions on the forums, but haven't yet hit the right solution. In fact the behavior with the fixes is so weird that I have to restart my system everytime, to ensure the results. Killing the xserver doesn't help. The normal bash prompt/shell work fine. But the X-Server is what I am trying for. Ok, so my question should be fairly clear by now. Has anyone here found a solution? Any/all help appreciated.
