It's good to see that you initiated a topic on commodity parallel
programming. I have been working on GPUs using CUDA for last one and a half
year. I strongly believe that sooner than later we are going to see this
extension of c/c++ going to get added with all the programming languages,
and it will be a compulsion rather than choice for programmers to learn
parallel programming for all purposes - web, scientific,
business,.....applications, whatever you can think about. I t will be really
a welcome step if we encourage people in this community to learn
CUDA/OpenCL.
