Are you sure sound isn't off. To check, is the sound icon showing up on the
top panel? If yes, what is its state, muted or unmuted? If not, go to
*System->Preferences->Sound->Hardware
*and set the first one to *Analog Stereo Duplex.* If all is well, that
should definitely work.

If not:
Install the package *pavucontrol, *then go to *Applications*->*Sound & Video
*->*PulseAudio Volume Control. *Check to see if anything is off, and tweak
around.

Okay, does the sound play when you login, kinda african drum beat sound? Or
it doesn't play at all, like ever?

Plus, it would be really helpful if you could post the configuration of your
computer, atleast the model.
