    I am using MTS MBLAZE right now. And I use wvdial to connect.

    After doing a lot of research, I have tried the following things:

       1. Disabled IPv6 in firefox and globally - read it somewhere on
          the internet.
       2. Changed DNS in /etc/resolv.conf

This never happened before. But in those cases, I was either connected to Tata Photon or wired internet connection through ethernet.

yes this is the correct thing you did have you tried adding google DNS addresses,see what happens?

my observation mblaze is flaky so you have to learn to live with it.

@satyaakam goswami

use usbmodem-switch and usbmodem-switch-data(try for smiler name i don't know the exact place of -'s) and install the GUI provided by them that works absolutely fine with ubuntu 9.10 and later.
no nwwd to disable the setting in firefox and changing the dns server.
