Hi Its been quite a while that I have been living with this bug. And I have also grown used to it and am in no dire need of a solution. But a bug is a bug and I think that a solution might have been devised. So here it goes. The function keys of my Dell Studio 1450 laptop perform certain alternate tasks eg controlling brightness, sound, play/pause, etc when pressed along with the Fn key. The didn't work properly with the contemporary linux distributions when the laptop was new i.e approximately a year and a half ago. Now, they stop responding after the system is awakened from slumber. i.e revived from Sleep mode or powered one from Hibernate.
Is there any service that I can restart to regain the functionality, without restarting the system? Because restarting would defeat the whole purpose of putting it to sleep or hibernate. Note : I am primarily using Kubuntu 10.10 on it as of now. -- Anuvrat Parashar http://about.me/anuvrat.parashar -- Mailing list guidelines and other related articles: http://lug-iitd.org/Footer
