Sure.
I had few folders on my desktop. Though no shortcuts or the commands worked
I opened the folder. In the "Go" menu there is "Search for files" option.
I searched for "ccsm" and selected the ccsm executable file. It opened the
compiz window. I checked the "Unity plugin" option as it was unchecked due
to which i had this problem. After I checked the unity plugin it showed few
dialog boxes showing conflicts. I selected "reslove conflicts". A few boxes
came and resolved the conflict anyway.

Now the unity was back into action. :)

There might be other ways of doing this but this was how i was able to solve
my problem.
