simple things
1) Plugout and plug in the bluetooth device check the dmesg if the
device is detected.
2) use lsusb if the device is detected.
3) check if the led on the bluetooth is blinking.
4) check the bluetooth settings from the bluetooth manager to see if
the setting are okay.
( your device shows up and not blocked).
5) Try with other bluetooth adaptor.
