For installing VLC you need to install [0-]rpmfusion repos.After than
from the command line gain su access..
> yum install vlc-core
yum install vlc
you are done.

Do you have [1]- usb_mode_switch installed on your machine ? once you have
that installed ,modem should be detected as mobile broadband in network
manager.From there you can configure the ISP details.
