The answer like respectfully nalin point was simple 10 years back.
Start programming. Linux today means different things to different
people. So where does one start. For that let's reframe the question
to where does one start with hacker mindset. There are simple pointers
for that. Start with hackers and painters or eric raymonds website. If
that is you are looking beyond linux as stable desktop or server
