Let us geeks not get carried away with concerns about just running Linux on your laptop. Vendors like DELL indulge in the worst forms of hoodwinking and misleading and of course dishonest practices. I can send you a checklist of the kind of dishonest things they do. Please catch me off the list. This also applies for shopping in places like Nehru Place or Lajpatrai Market or Chandni Chowk (every city has such shady places).
