I would say that Django is a great choice if cost is a factor very quickly
with respect to scaling. From a pure prototyping and say phase 1
perspective, RoR is great!

One of the reasons to prefer Django would be that you require a bit more
understanding of underlying things than RoR, which I think leads to better
engineering longer term [but then who has seen the future ;)]
