apt-get man page states that you can forbid a package from installing and also remove it if installed, by appending a hyphen to the package name. sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras ttf-mscorefonts-installer- should solve the issue. Since u-r-e is a meta package, and is not usually updated, you can be sure that ttf-mscorefonts-installer will not be delivered via an update later. -- J Phani Mahesh -- Mailing list guidelines and other related articles: http://lug-iitd.org/Footer
