tried steps from
http://askubuntu.com/questions/246684/do-i-need-any-extra-drivers-for-the-realtek-waves-maxx-audio-on-my-dell-xps-17

installing drivers by following that link makes that maxxaudio3 key working
but its malfunctioning. expected thing is not running by pressing that
key.
that key supposed to change audio environment / bass etc all we have in
external speaker and woofer system. (http://www.maxx.com/content.aspx?id=739
)

so gnome is detecting keypress but its not performing task that it should
perform.
