Hello,
We are working in Jamui, a naxal-affected district in South Bihar, with a focus on bringing e-education closer to the people to improve access to knowledge and government services to people. The idea is democratisation on IT, even to the far flung corners. Not having right knowledge of government rules, processes and schemes leads to information arbitrage and people succumbing to bribery. Currently we are teaching school children with basic computer and internet modules spread across a week. A pilot has been done in two schools this week. We are facing three basic issues: 1. Availabilty of computing machines to children 2. Electricity 3. Long term and reliable trainers 3rd has been solved with help of the local youth who are volunteering to take the training. 1 and 2 keep hampering the targets. We wanted to 1. Get your inputs on how can we make the delivery more sustainable 2. Check how we can scale up in 10 months. whom should we reach out to -- Regards Kapil ~ http://email-stories.blogspot.com -- -- Mailing list guidelines and other related articles: http://lug-iitd.org/Footer --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Linux User Group @ IIT Delhi" group.
