Oops. You learn something new every day. I guess I just use vim as an "Improved VI", without making much use of vim's own added features (other than folding which I find handy for editing large files). I'm curious if quickfix would be a good thing given that you get only one error message at a time. It seems more optimal if you can get many errors so that you can fix them all. My own programming style would have almost 0 and at most 1 lexical at a time, so, being able to just jump to an error location (without all of these features) would be enough. But then again, I stopped configuring my editor when I stopped using emacs. (I would use it, maybe, if it's ready made and well done.) Aziz,,,
