Regular Scheme is already one step above traditional programming languages.
Scheme with macros is two steps above traditional programming languages.
Scheme with higher order macros is three steps above traditional programming
languages.  So, some stretching of your neck is to be expected ;-)

Still, with implicit phasing higher order macros are not really
not much more complicated than regular macros, and this
is the best argument against the tower of metalevels.
