True, and this is why auto-caching should be clearly documented and why there should be a command line switch to disable it on demand. I think nobody ever suggested to do otherwise. My suggestion is to enable auto-caching as an experimental feature for say 6 months. If in this time frame you will get hordes of users complaining about caching-related problems, then you will just disable it as default in the following Ikarus version. If no problem arises, you will just keep it.
