Perhaps Descot would play a role at some point: http://descot.sacrideo.us/about.xhtml
As far as I understand it, Descot plays a supporting goal: an implementation can have its own repository that publishes its contents (meta information) through Descot. For example, PLT can put Planet's info on Descot while still uses conventional Planet tools for accessing its libraries. Descot aggregates all the information available in a single language in order to make it possible to query *all* repositories at once (which you cannot do if every implementation has its own protocol). Having said that, there is not much info on the Descot site yet, and if there's a real need for this, we can develop our own repository and integrate it with Descot when it's ready. Aziz,,,
