The only thing we learn from new elections is we learned nothing from the old. The dread of loneliness is greater than the fear of bondage, so we get married. I awoke this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and new. Animals do not admire each other. A horse does not admire its companion. I had a monumental idea this morning, but I didn't like it. We know too much and feel too little. At least, we feel too little of those creative emotions from which a good life springs. It is not much matter which we say, but mind, we must all say the same. No one ever lost his honor, except he who had it not.
