CHFR is steady climbing this week as they announce their expansion with
8 new distributors. Up 9.6% Monday and another 20.5% Tuesday, this one
is making investors steady money. Read the news and get on CHFR first
thing Wednesday!
Some vendors have rapid relase cycles with new releases coming out every
year to 18 months.
Anything that can be installed easily and produce auditing detail is
useful for organizations looking to augment their compliance with
regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley.
But in many cases these tasks were attacked in a low-cost, ad hoc
manner. I think this is something that the profession will have to deal
with soon, but it is not something that we've given much thought to yet.
But in many cases these tasks were attacked in a low-cost, ad hoc
manner.
Baseball Hacks tells you where to find the data and how to build the
reports. And can you find other users on your own (that were not
specially selected by the vendor and might give different and perhaps
more honest answers).
For Windows development, all three are viable options, but Microsoft is
the leader. Evidently you just plug the device into the network and it
begins to monitor data requests going over the network. So I get to see
a lot of different airports and travel to different cities.
Also, I'm not necessarily promoting any of these products. It is not
uncommon for manufacturing companies, dot-coms, and universities to be
less conservative. This is an interesting problem and it takes on many
different forms.
But now with all of the government regulations and on-going compliance
projects, it seems that the value of data and metadata is being
reconsidered.
But in many cases these tasks were attacked in a low-cost, ad hoc
manner. In many cases, what is ethical can come down to a religious
issue.
As such, it is much more likely that you can procure a budget for DBA
and data management tools.
So, every now and then, I'll use my blog to answer some questions that I
get on a regular basis. Craig, I enjoy your DBTA articles. That way we
could (hopefully) feel confident trusting the policy to be as strong as
what is actually written there, if not moreso. Okay, I hope I've made my
point that a high-level ethical code is too nebulous to be useful.
Now that is the last straw!
It is an idea or piece of code that can be used to further your
understanding and knowledge of baseball.
What does any of this have to do with database management?
Well, not much, at least directly.
>From the perspective of the free market, it might be perceived as such.
By that I mean we need to become better informed about what our
employer's are doing to protect data. To the many people out there who
would like to be able to search for a book based on a phrase or portion
of its content, this probably seems like the furthest thing from evil. I
guess we all have to read every law on the books before we can trust
this policy.
And wasn't HIPAA supposed to ensure the privacy of my medical records?
The author, Joseph Adler, shows all kinds of ways to gather free
baseball statistics over the Internet, load them into databases, and
then to build reports and queries against them.
But the next time someone tells you that some new database technology is
going to render everything you know to be obsolete, slow down and think
about the problem with prediction.
Perhaps a nice useful starting point is offered by the SAGE System
Administrator's Code of Ethics.
