Ferrari 458 GT by Jon Sibal - Click above for high-res image

Brace yourself for big ol' dose of sexy. Ferrari hasn't exactly made a secret that this is the last year for the F430 GT in the American Le Mans Series. With its days numbered, more than a few souls have begun meditating on what will come next for the Prancing Horse's ALMS teams. Most have settled on the notion that the new 458 Italia will make its way to the paddock in race guise, resulting in a 458 GT. Fortunately for us, one of those contemplative souls just happens to be the design guru Jon Sibal.

Sibal worked up a quick rendering of what the new bruiser would look like, and we have to say we're smitten. The lunging lines of 458 Italia lend themselves well to an even more low-slung race stance. Throw in a few aerodynamic tweaks, a new set of shoes and proper rubber and you've got a genuine heart throb. Sibal says the rendering is just a quick shot at what the car looks like - we'd can't wait to see what happens when he takes his time with the car.

A few months back, word began to spread that AMG is working on a performance version of one of Mercedes' smallest cars. If true, it would not only mean giving the hi-po treatment to a segment hitherto untouched by the gents at Affalterbach, it could entail swapping a front-wheel drive hatch for a RWD platform. A month later, this small car's benchmarks were found out: the Golf R, Audi S3 and BMW 1 Series. And a month after that the rumors began to coalesce around the B-Class as AMG's subject of choice.

It turns out that the A-Class will be the first in line for an AMG makeover and the Ford Focus RS is also one of its targets. The diminutive Benz will get a four-cylinder, direct-injection engine with a pressure-wave supercharger that's looking at an output of somewhere around 270 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. That gumption will reportedly get to the wheels through a dual-clutch gearbox and then navigate yet more clutches in the rear-biased all-wheel-drive system.

A two-car line-up is planned: a five-door hatch and a CLS-like sedan. But we won't see any of this until 2012 or so, when the next-generation A-Class arrives. And the U.S. is only expected to get the sedan version, which will wear the name CLC, salvaged from the C-Class sport coupe that ended production not a moment too soon.

Following January's unveiling of the new 2011 Ford Focus in Detroit, reports are emerging this week that the hotter Focus XR5 Turbo (Focus ST in Europe) will debut at this year's Paris Auto Show in October. Of course, with the three-door variant of the new Focus still yet to be revealed, these new reports mean that we will see either a five-door XR5 Turbo only (at least to begin with), or that Ford will also unveil the three-door at Paris. In regular spec, the Focus three-door an... Read more

Sebastian Vettel has urged his German fans to show support for teammate Mark Webber this weekend at Hockenheim. After their Istanbul crash and the Silverstone front wing furore, the pair are sharing a tense relationship at present. But German Vettel, 23, told Cologne's Express tabloid that he would not like to see his Australian teammate heckled by partisan spectators.
