Job Description:
Client has a need for a senior level Data Integration Modeler to work within
their Information Management group. The DM will be part of a team of 5
people comprised of two data architects and three modelers on the EDW
project (Enterprise Data Warehouse). This person will be doing three primary
things:
1. Creating the logical model for Member and Claims from a holistic view
(AKA - the big picture).
2. Assist with smaller capability bundle models when they come along (could
be subsets of the bigger member and claims models).
3. Tying the newly created models into the Enterprise Information Model
(EIM).
There is a heavy emphasis on this position with logical modeling. Candidates
must have extensive experience with modeling with in a data warehouse
environment as opposed to transactional environment. Data Models created
within Data Warehousing environments to mainly address data integration
issues which are paramount on the EDW project.
1. Strong Dimensional 3rd Normal Forms Modeling skills (5-6 years)
with a proven track record around: Conformed Dimensions, Building Complex
Hierarchies AND Large slowly changing Dimensions. Extensive background with
mapping between Source AND third normal form layer (physical data
integration layer).
2. Extensive experience (at least 5 years) with taking logical data
models AND then developing the ?first cut? physical models for the
presentation layer.
3. The person will be expected to sunset the legacy data warehouse
before 2014 in order To be comply with ICD-10 mandates. The data from CDW
will need To be moved into EDW without impacting the functionality of the
Applications which feed the data. The challenge for the Data Modelers is
work with the business To identify how the fields should be set up within
the database tables. EDW has To be user friendly in order To gain acceptance
from the business community.
