Walt & list,

While out and about on Sept. 12 with fellow lister Brian Carlson we visited
Palestine, Illinois on the INRD. After the obligatory shots of the local
power, we could see what looked like a business car back to the north of the
engine facility (?). We stumbled into a INRD SD18(?) in disrepair along with
the two rapid transit cars. They were INRD 85 & 86. My untrained eyes told
me that they looked like CTA cars that are used in Chicago on the "eL" We
thought they were just about the strangest things we could find in that part
of Illinois.

Those wishing to hunt down these cars have to go down to Palestine and look
to the north of the yard. They are nestled in the trees so shooting is
tight. You can drive to them by crossing the tracks at the yard office then
turning right after a block (or so). As I said, they are buried in the woods
so look sharp and you'll see the SD18 which has been pushed to the end of
track. Very weird.

Hope this helps.

Will Rasmussen
